    The history and character of the building<\/h3>\n

    The building housing the apartment was built on the site of the pre-war Ophthalmic Institute. It was designed by Jan Bogus\u0142awski and Bohdan Gniewiewski<\/strong> in 1964, and construction was completed in 1976. Initially, it was planned to be a Polish hotel. The characteristic shape of the top floors led Warsaw residents to colloquially call it "\u201ejaw-dropping house<\/strong>\u201d" or "\u201ewith a hammer<\/strong>\u201dIn 2016, the building was entered into the municipal register of Warsaw monuments and remains one of the symbols of the capital's modern architecture of the 1970s.<\/p>\n
